Latin Style Chili

Ingredients

o  2 pounds lean ground beef, chicken, or pork

o  1 onion diced

o  1 jalapeño seeded and finely diced

o  4 cloves garlic minced

o  2 ½ tablespoons chili powder divided, or to taste

o  1 teaspoon cumin

o  1 green bell pepper seeded and diced

o  2 celery ribs, chopped

o  1 jar of Divino Sofrito Simmer Sauce

o  19 ounces canned red kidney or other beans drained and rinsed

o  14.5 ounces canned diced tomatoes with juices

o  1 ½ cups beef broth

o  1 cup beer

o  1 tablespoon tomato paste

o  salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

o  Combine ground beef and 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder.

o  In a large pot, brown ground meat, onion, jalapeno, and garlic. Drain any fat.

o  Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 45-60 minutes or until chili has reached desired thickness.

o  Top with cheddar cheese, green onions, cilantro or other favorite toppings.
